DOMINKA JANICKA
Dominika Janicka has graduated in Architecture from Gdańsk University of Technology, where she was ranked among the top sixteen graduates. She has gained professional experience in Poland, Belgium, Germany and China. In her practice she combines academic work and research with design work. She is the author of the Fair Building concept, which represented Poland at the 15th Venice Biennale of Architecture. Her work has been shown at Milan Design Week or the Design Biennale in Ljubljana, among others, and featured in The New York Times and The Guardian. She has successfully participated in many architectural and design competitions. She has received the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and won the Cultural Award of the Mayor of Kielce. Since 2012 she has been running her own studio. In 2014 she joined the design team of the Institute of Design in Kielce, where she currently holds the position of artistic director. Since 2018 she has worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Design of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce. She is a co-founder of Bal Architektek, an initiative supporting women in architecture.
Dominka Janicka will be a tutor of the DoFA '22 student design workshop, she is also one of the authors of the works presented at the AMBULATORIUM exhibition.
